Treated Like A Brother

NYU is a school in the middle of a great city, so you really do not need a fraternity for social activities. Why I joined in 1977 I can tell you in one word, woman, why I stayed will take a bit more.
In 1977, Psi U at NYU was the largest fraternity in size and it had the largest sisterhood. More importantly to me, included in its sisterhood was a girl named Jane, who I thought was beauty personified. Not only that but at all the parties, she talked to me and treated me nicely, I was amazed. Add to that the guys were so friendly and you can see why I wanted to join. Glenn Ryder, Tom Cahill, Dave Harold, and Eric Simons, were all guys that treated me, well like a brother, before I became one.
Jane and I became friends, never more, but the brothers and I became like blood brothers, there for each other, helping, teaching and sharing the good times. More brothers joined, Steve Ircha, James Cahill, Tom’s younger brother, Alan Wilk, Dana Lowery, and more brothers and I grew closer, Aldo and Bruno Mancini, Ron Loreano, Jamie Sawhill, all joined together to help each other in this great stage of our lives.
Alumni introduced me to cigars, which I enjoy to this day, we partied at Uncle Teddy’s upstate, and through the years they taught me and supported me as an individual and as a Psi U. Psi Upsilon, Psi U forever, symbol dearest to our hearts.
Thanks for the great memories.
